When it comes to making a positive impact in our community, few organizations match the dedication and commitment shown by the Auxiliary to Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH). For over eight decades, this remarkable group of individuals has played a pivotal role in advancing local healthcare services to ensure the well-being of the residents of Trent Hills and surrounding communities.
Auxiliary Executive CommitteeThe Auxiliary organizes its own events to raise funds and provides manpower to CMH Foundation events. Since inception,1943, the Auxiliary has donated over $2 million dollars toward the purchase of vital equipment for the Hospital. “In the early years the Auxiliary made and supplied bed linen, curtains and pillows as well as painted the hospital rooms.” states Christine Hallett, Auxiliary past chair and representative to the Foundation Board, “Since then, our support has continued to grow.”
Each year the Auxiliary is a leading contributor to the CMH Foundation’s fundraising efforts. In 2022, the Auxiliary made a significant pledge to contribute $150,000 to the Foundation’s campaign for the new CT Scanner in the following three years. The target is close at hand, with only $37,000 remaining to fulfill their commitment by March 2025.
The Auxiliary meets once a month, except in July and August. Five main events are organized throughout the year, plus smaller fundraisers along the way. The Auxiliary to CMH is pleased to assist at fundraisers spearheaded by the CMH Foundation. “We enthusiastically work with the CMH Foundation at their fundraisers which include the Annual Incredible Doctors’ Cook-Off and the Ranney Gorge Run,” says Jill Stewart, Auxiliary President.
Jill Stewart states “We are pleased to welcome new members to the Auxiliary and encourage new and innovative ideas for fundraising. There is something for everyone who joins this group, from monthly Quilting Bees and the Gift Shop to the Polar Plunge and Christmas Bazaar. Being part of the Auxiliary allows you to contribute to the community by supporting the funding of essential equipment for CMH and enjoying comradery with other members.
