Both Kyle and Teresa were born and raised in Campbellford and are now raising their children here (20-year old Gibson, 18-year old Grady, 12-year old Gordie and 10-year old Cora). They also own and operate the Wine Barrel II on Front St. North, in Campbellford, so their ties to this community are strong.

Like many local families, the Gilders are active in minor hockey. This past November Cora fell on the ice during a game. There was no swelling, just a bit of pain but she couldn’t move her arm. Kyle and Teresa decided to take her to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Emergency Department to get her checked out. The Emergency doctors wanted to take every precaution, so an X-Ray was ordered. The Doctor determined that Cora had broken her shoulder. Cora’s arm was put in a sling and Teresa said “The care was wonderful, our nurse, Hannah Finch, was absolutely lovely and we were in and out of the hospital in 3 hours.”

The Gilders find monthly giving is the best, most convenient option for them. Teresa adds, “It simply comes out of our bank account each month. We know our support helps the doctors and hospital team have critical equipment available, like the digital X-Ray used to discover Cora’s broken shoulder.”

In March of 2023 to celebrate the second anniversary of owning the Wine Barrel II, the Gilder’s held a fundraising promotion for the Hospital on top of their monthly support. $5 from every wine batch sold during the month was donated to the Hospital and the campaign for a new CT Scanner. They raised and donated over $500.

Monthly Donor Profile

“We are blessed to live in a wonderful community. We have everything we need here, including a hospital. Not many rural communities are as fortunate.” stated Teresa. “We also want our children to know how lucky we are and how important it is to support our community. That’s why we share with our kids what we support as a family”.

Teresa encourages everyone in the community to donate monthly to ensure we have a well-equipped hospital in Campbellford for generations to come. “Every donation makes a difference and monthly giving is the easiest.”
