For Immediate Release, February 22, 2024

TRENT HILLS, ON – Registration is open for the Annual Ranney Gorge Run ~ Presented by Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company, in support of the Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) Foundation. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, May 5th, 2024. The annual run will again take place on the roads of Ferris Provincial Park and over the breathtaking Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge in Campbellford, ON. The event includes the officially timed 10.55K (half of a half marathon) and 5K run/walk routes and the popular 1K Fun Run for Kids.

Funds raised will support patient care and the purchase of new life-saving equipment for Campbellford Memorial Hospital. Last year, almost 400 registered participants helped raise over $24,000 for the Hospital, bringing the total amount raised since the first Run in 2018 to over $112,000. CMH Foundation Executive Director John Russell says, “The Ranney Gorge Run gets better and better every year and we know this year’s event will be the best ever. The route and scenery are amazing, especially crossing the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Runners and Walkers from across Southern Ontario agree the Ranney Gorge Run is a can’t miss event.”

Race organizers have two new exciting things to announce.

To encourage all of the Ranney Gorge Run participants to raise funds for the Hospital the CMH Foundation is pleased to announce that passionate hospital supporters Steve and Doreen Sharpe have agreed to match all pledges raised made up to $10,000! We cannot thank Steve and Doreen enough for this generous matching gift. Run participants can collect pledges through their secure on-line fundraising page or with pledge sheets. If participants raise $150 in pledges for the Hospital, they will get their registration fee back less a $5 administration fee.

Also due to the generosity of the Municipality of Trent Hills all registered Ranney Gorge Run participants are getting FREE access to the Hastings Field House walking track from March 1st to May 5th, 2024 during regular operating hours to start practicing for the Run. Participants simply need to show their proof of registration to get access to the Field House.

The Ranney Gorge Run is presented by Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company. Other confirmed supporters, include Whitley Newman Insurance, the Rotary Club of Campbellford, Erin Hobbs Graphic Design, Ontario Parks, TAP Timing and the Municipality of Trent Hills.
